Hardware Park is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects early-stage medical device companies with design, engineering, funding, and manufacturing resources to turn great ideas into world-changing MedTech devices. Apply to be a member of their inaugural, 4-person Biodesign Fellowship designed to equip early-career engineers and designers to drive innovation no matter what industry sector they serve. This is a 12 month fellowship in the Birmingham, AL area.

The winner of all four top prizes in the Big Ideas Competition of the UA Kennemer Center were all students associated with the Tikkun Olam Makers (TOM), a student group resident on the The Cube, the College of Engineering Maker Space. Winning projects included: (Grand Prize) U-Clamp, a universal attachment to power wheelchairs with electric scooters, (2nd Prize) Wrapid, wheelchair wheel covers to improve traction outdoors and keep indoors clean, (3rd Prize) Shin Sheath, a prosthetic cover that improves aesthetics and prevents clothing damage, (4th Prize) MechChair, a wheelchair gearing system for high speed and high traction movement.
