The curricular or classroom portion of the program is currently under development as the program just began in the Fall of 2023. It will eventually complement additional experiential components including extracurricular design, mentoring and funding. We propose a nine credit hour certificate in entrepreneurship for undergraduates, and a similar certificate for graduate students to be combined with other skills to form a new M.S. degree for the next generation of creative design engineers. By condensing the curricular portion of the program into three courses, we provide a quick startup path for students interested in entrepreneurship. This approach addresses the fact the many of the most successful entrepreneurs dropped out of college for the lack of such a program.
