PROPOSED ENTREPRENEURSHIP CERTIFICATE

Three different 3-credit courses comprise our proposed Engineering Entrepreneurship Certificate as described below. These courses will be inclusive of process and project ventures, as well as product ventures, so as to be more broadly inclusive of all engineering disciplines. These courses will be designed so as to fill some electives in all engineering departments.

IDEATION AND
CUSTOMER DISCOVERY

Use customer discovery interviews to optimize the value proposition in a business model canvas and produce a minimum viable product/process. A special topics version of this course is being offered for Spring 2024.

TECHNICAL PROTOTYPING*

Using multidisciplinary teams, and local maker spaces to produce a prototype product/process that includes design for manufacture, maintenance

TECHNICAL VENTURE LAUNCH

Utilize management and leadership principles in exploring equity funding and boot-strapping approaches to navigate venture launch
